Bamboo Qualities

Green (Absorbs greenhouse gases and a renewable resource)

Bamboo is the fast growing plant in the planet!  Some species of bamboo grow more than three feet each day!  Bamboo also absorbs carbon dioxide and releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than an equivalent stand of hardwood trees.  By using Bamboo, with its short growth cycle (depending on the species, bamboo can be harvested in one to five years) and it's high carbon dioxide exchange rate, we can help minimize the damage caused to our environment through deforestation.  Clearly, Bamboo's green footprint can help fight global warming.

Strength

Bamboo has greater tensile strength (or resistance to being pulled apart) than steel, and it withstands compression better than concrete.  Bamboo epitomizes the Chinese concept that, "you've got to bend with things, if you don't bend, you'll break." Bamboo's strength is in its ability to bend and thrives in a wide range of climates.  A quality that should form part of everyone's mindset.

Bamboo is an elegant fabric option, with a luxurious cashmere-like feel, twice as soft as cotton.  It's silky soft and comforting.  It will soothes sensitive skin because of it's hypoallergenic, absorbent and breathable qualities.  Bamboo wicks away sweat and breathes 3x more than cotton, keeping you dry, fresh and clean.

As an added benefit, bamboo’s intrinsic anti-bacterial qualities repel odors and toxins and absorbs moisture.  Bamboo kun is a natural antimicrobial bio-agent found in bamboo, which is what gives bamboo fabric its antibacterial and antifungal properties. Even after the fabric has gone through many wash cycles, it never loses these important qualities.
